Saxo Bank analyst Kay Van-Petersen, the same guy who predicted the price would reach $2,000 a coin in 2017 (which it did in May), reckons the price per bitcoin could hit $100,000 USD in ten years.

It went on to top $2,700 last week before falling substantially to just under $2,000 USD in its biggest slide since March.

Things seem to have stabilized since the fallout with the price currently sitting comfortably at $3,148.71 CAD as of 7pm, ET, Wednesday—up a little over 2% in 24 hours.

Most other altcoins are looking healthy following a weekend so hellish they’ll probably make a Big Short-ish movie about it in years to come.

Ethereum is the main talking point on most forums at the time being, having climbed more than 60% from this week’s low and over 270% in a month.

On January 1st, Ethereum was trading at a measly $8 USD ($11 CAD) per coin.

Today, just six months later, a single coin will cost you $228 USD ($308 CAD); that’s a year-to-date rise of a whopping 2,300%.

Many are claiming that Ethereum will eventually surpass bitcoin to become the world’s number one currency and the way things are going, it’s hard to argue.
